HAIR LOSS IN MEN (MALES):

Man Type Hair Loss

The hair loss period, which occurs genetically and starts with hair falling out and loss as a result, affects nine out of ten men, and this type pf hair loss is called Androgenetic Hair Loss.

Related to genetic structure and starts with puberty, it may occur any time during adulthood. Its speed, impact, and falling out pattern is completely under genetic control. Aside from known and regular falling out patterns, it may starts atypically. The hair in the neck area between two ears is not affected from this condition genetically, and stays and grows full and healthy for life.

The progression route of Androgenetic Hair Loss pattern:
Testosterone---> DiHidro Testosterone (DHT) ---> Negative impact to hair follicles and hair start getting thinner and disappear eventually.

BEFORE THE FUE HAIR TRANSPLANTATION:

There is no specific preparation for the procedure of fue hair transplantation in general. However, it is important the physician knows the patient’s medical history including past illnesses and current medicine intake. The patients are required to fill out the medical history form in our Clinique. On the day of the procedure, the hair is shaved in a special section of our clinique. In some case, partial shaving might be suffice (less graft count) The patient has to be full before the procedure. The usage of Aspirin or Aspiring like drugs such as blood thinners should be stopped a few days prior to the procedure and the physician should know about it.

The alcohol consumption should be stopped a few days prior to the procedure. Alcohol diminishes the effectiveness and length of local anesthesia, and prevents the patient having a ‘painless’ procedure. In order to overcome anxiety, some sedation and calming medicine may be given to the patient before the procedure.

Post-Procedure:

10th and 14th day: Checking the crust (for those live far may send pictures)

The 4th month is when the implanted grafts show growth. However, this may vary according to patient’s hair structure and the area of transplant.

8th-12th month is the period where the final results are seen. In Vertex transplantation, this may take longer
The hair starts growing on the 4th month is finalized on the 12th month.
